Do eyelash extensions ruin your natural lashes?
Lash extensions will not cause your own natural lashes to fall off. Everyone’s lashes go through cycles of falling and growing. A good lash technician will know to apply extensions on adult lashes, leaving baby lashes alone giving them time to fully develop.
How should I prepare for my lash extensions appointment?
Arriving with no makeup is ideal, especially no eye make up, and do not curl your natural lashes right before your appointment. Any makeup on the face (ex. eyebrows, concealer, foundation) may get removed during your appointment.
Please let your lash technician know of any sensitivities and we will do a patch test to make sure you’re a good candidate for lash extensions.
How long do eyelash extensions last, and when should I get refills?
Our lash extensions can last anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, with refills recommended every 2 to 3 weeks when 50-60% of your extensions have fallen off. The longevity of your new lashes depend on your skincare and lifestyle. For example, someone who uses more oil based skincare products and attends hot yoga classes regularly may have to get refills earlier and more frequently.
Can I wear makeup with eyelash extensions?
You can wear makeup with your lash extensions, but we recommend avoiding any waterproof makeup. Although many people choose to skip mascara after getting lash extensions, if you wish to wear mascara, please make sure to use water based or a specially formulated mascara for lash extensions. Avoid oil-based or waterproof mascara.
What can you not do with eyelash extensions?
Don’t get your lash extensions wet for at least 4 hours after your lash appointment.
Avoid exposing your lashes to excessive heat for at least 2 days (sauna, direct sun, hot yoga). Excessive sweating will deteriorate the longevity of your lash extensions.
Don’t forget to brush your lashes once in the morning and once in the evening to prevent tangling
Avoid rubbing your eyes
Do not use mechanical eyelash curlers on your lash extensions
Don’t apply oil based products (no oil based makeup removers)
Avoid wearing falsies on top of your lash extensions. With lash extensions, you will not need strip lashes, but if you wish to apply them on top of your lash extensions, avoid using too much glue as it can seep into your lash extensions and cause them to fall off earlier.
If you want any lash extensions removed, do not try to pull them off yourself. Let them fall off naturally, or get a lash professional to take them off for you.
